Corine L. Daniels

Corine L. Daniels, 76 of Gaylord, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, at home.

Born on January 10, 1947, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she was the daughter of Warren and Leta (Orvis) Jorgenson.

A longtime resident of Kalamazoo, Corine was married there on April 4, 1966, to Dennis C. Daniels Sr.  In 1997 Corine and Dennis moved to Gaylord, where he preceded her in death on July 18, 2015.

Corine was a loving wife and stay at home mom who kept very busy raising four children.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and other crafts.  She was proud to have completed her high school education later than most, receiving a her diploma at the age of 40.

In addition to her husband, Dennis, Corine was preceded in death by her parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert, and Sue Daniels; and a grandson, Willie Shannon III.

Surviving are her children, April Perkins of Kalamazoo, Dennis (Margaret) Daniels Jr. of Gaylord, and Tammy Shannon of Kalamazoo; a “bonus son”, Daniel (Becky) Mohle of Charlevoix; grandchildren, Leona Daniels, Amanda (Nicholas) Perkins, Marcella (Kevin) Mixon, Benjamin Shannon, Emily Shannon, Elizabeth Perkins, and Daniel (Lizzy) Perkins all of Kalamazoo, Anastasia (Joe) Richmond of Plainwell, Michael Lewis of Grand Rapids, Shyann Nadeau of Texarkana, AR; many great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and extended family, Keith, Davi, Patrisha and Kiera Perry. 

A celebration of Corine’s life will be held beginning at 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at the family’s home, 4524 Redpoll Trail in Gaylord.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Compassus Hospice, 12480 State St, Suite 10, Atlanta, MI  49709.
