Gloria Kay Haskill, 73 of Gaylord passed away Wednesday March 11th at home.

Kay, as she preferred to be called, was born on April 1 1946 to Kenneth and Jeannette Collins in Rochester, MI. She was a 1964 graduate of Avondale High School.

Kay enjoyed working at K-Mart in Gaylord for many years until her health forced her quit working. She enjoyed taking rides out into the Pigeon River looking for wildlife especially the Elk herd. Her later years were plagued with health issues that limited ability to get out but she fought the good fight and did what she could when she could.

Kay enjoyed old movies and doing crossword puzzles.  When her family was younger she would often load the boys in the car, stop at a store and get some cheese, crackers and summer sausage and ask “which way,” often winding up in the Pigeon River Country or Mackinac City.

She was mom to few, Grandma Kay to some and friend to many.  She will be missed by all greatly. Kay is survived by her sons, Jay (Vicki) Holloway of Gaylord and Ken (Lita) Holloway of New Jersey; her sister, Nancy Dreffs of Gaylord; brother Lonnie (Glenis) Collins of Westland; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brad) Boyce of Virginia, Sean (Renee) Holloway of Michigan, and Sierra Holloway and Ken Holloway both of New Jersey.  Perhaps her greatest joy in her later years were her three great grandchildren, Eleanor, Amelia, and Edith of Virginia. Kay will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at the VFW Post 1518 Pavilion, 1905 S. Otsego Avenue in Gaylord at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2020.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
