Albert Chester Pomarzynski

Albert Chester Pomarzynski Jr., 90 of Gaylord, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Muson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital.

Albert was born March 2, 1936, at home in Gaylord, the fourth of nine children, to Albert and Lottie (Matelski) Pomarzynski. He grew up as the "middle child' and loved playing with his four brothers and three sisters. His brother, Peter, a twin of Joe, passed away as a baby. He graduated from Johannesburg High School.

Albert loved anything to do with wood. He heated his home with wood that he had cut and kept his sister, Agnes, supplied with wood for her home. He made furniture and loved wood working. He enjoyed spending time in his garden growing vegetables. As a younger man he also enjoyed all the hunting and fishing that northern Michigan has to offer.

Albert was always willing to give you a helping hand whether he knew you personally, or you were a friend of a friend, or a complete stranger. He was often found building or fixing homes of neighbors, family, or friends. including a house for his sister, Agnes. His loving, caring, and helping nature will be missed by everyone that was touched by him.

He will be missed most of all by his only surviving sibling, Agnes Pomarzynski along with many nieces and nephews.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Bernie Maltelski, Stanley, Joe, Peter, and Frank Pomarzynski, sisters, Veronica Roberts, and Margie Dowker.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026, at St. Mary Cathedral. Family will receive visitors from noon until the service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery.
