Ann Marie Koronka, 85 of Johannesburg, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at Aspen Ridge Retirement Village.
Ann was born August 27, 1939, as daughter number two of six girls. She graduated from Johannesburg High School in 1957 and then married Chester Koronka on October 18, 1958. They celebrated over 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2010.
“Annie,” as she was lovingly known, always had a ready smile. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, embroidery and collecting Barbie dolls. Ann also loved the casino, playing the lottery and bingo, where luck was largely on her side.
She was a stay-at-home mom as her children were growing up.
Chet and Ann lived in Whitmore Lake for many years before returning to their hometown of Johannesburg. Ann worked at Otsego Club (Hidden Valley) for a few years. She then found her calling, a cook at the school in Johannesburg, for over 20 years. She loved the students, and they loved her.
Ann is survived by son, Ron (Wendy) Koronka; daughter, Cathy (Mike) Clear and her daughter-in-law, Judy Koronka; her older sister, Margaret Garrett; 8 special grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Chet; her son, Gary; daughter-in-law, Peggy; grandson, Bruce Jr; parents, Dick and Clara Milbocker; sisters, Judy Hobgood, Betty Mankowski, Marlene Jewell, and Joann Adair.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aspen Ridge Retirement Village, for the wonderful care that Ann received for over four years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 1:30 PM Friday, July 25, 2025, at St. Mary Cathedral, where visitation will begin at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
