Ann Marie Seymour, 82, of Atlanta, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her home, with her devoted husband, Thom, by her side.
Born on December 20, 1942, in Millington, Michigan, to the late Charlie and Evelyn Muntin, Ann’s early life was shaped by a strong sense of family and community. In 1978, she married the love of her life, Thom Seymour, on January 30 in a memorable ceremony in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The day was made even more special by the blizzard of 1978, which added a touch of adventure to their wedding journey, and it also marked Thom’s birthday. Their marriage lasted 47 years, with Thom never missing an anniversary.
Ann’s passions were many, but she found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved watching hummingbirds visit her garden, and tending to her flower beds brought her a sense of peace and purpose. Above all, Ann’s greatest pride was her work as the Avery Township Clerk, a role she faithfully served in for 38 years, where she was known for her dedication, integrity, and commitment to her community.
Ann leaves behind her beloved husband, Thom, her cherished sisters, Evie (Don) Secrest and Mary (Patrick) Kernahan; children Gabrielle (Kevin) Peter, Warren (Angela) Perkins, and stepdaughter Jeanie Flory; grandchildren J.R. Perkins, Isabelle Perkins, Mikaela Baker, Zenzi Peter, Quade Peter, and Mirabelle Peter; and step-grandchildren Timothy Bryan, Amber Bryan, Gary Bryan, Deserae Bryan, and Soleil Flory. Ann also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Evelyn Muntin; her brother-in-law, Don Secrest; her niece, Wendy Secrest; and her stepson, Tim Bryan.
A visitation will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church in Hillman, Michigan, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A luncheon will be held at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating in Ann’s memory to a charity of your choice.
Ann’s life was one of love, service, and devotion, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
