Betty Jane Dow

Betty Jane Dow, 91 of Cheboygan, passed away at The Brook in Cheboygan, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Born in Flint, she was the daughter of Harry and Mabel (Wood) Tallman.

Betty grew up in Flint and attended Flint Schools. She and Everett Dow were married in Flint at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on January 24, 1953. They lived much of their life in Pontiac where they raised their family.

Betty was a devoted homemaker and mother to their three children while Everett worked at General Motors. After his retirement they moved from Pontiac to Cheboygan in 1980 where they were parishioners at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Riggsville. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and canning.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett, on March 30, 2012, and a son, Dennis Dow. Surviving are her children, Mindy (Scott) Hutchison of Gowen, and Mark (Melissa) Dow of Cheboygan; grandchildren, Jason (Shelly) Broyles, Jeremy (Micca) Broyles, John (Krista) Dow, Dennis (Amanda) Dow, Steven (Stephanie) Dow, Zachary Dow, David Dow, Daniel Dow, Eric (Sara) Brown, and Jordan Brown; 18 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Riggsville on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM, followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
