Bonnie Sue Krusell, 71 of Petoskey, passed away on December 31, 2025, at Villa at the Bay in Petoskey. With her children by her side, she went to be with Jesus.
Bonnie was born to Roscoe and Goldie (DeForest) Bancroft, in Bellaire, MI on August 27,1954. She was a proud member of a big, lively family. Bonnie had a deep love for her family and close friends. A favorite pastime was writing poetry, where she often used words to express what was in her heart, to bring comfort or a smile to others. She was known for her positive, upbeat attitude and her quick, witty sense of humor, traits that stayed with her through life's ups and downs. Even on hard days, Bonnie had a way of finding light, laughter, and hope, and she shared that gift freely with everyone around her.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Stuart (Babytwo); her parents, Roscoe and Goldie Bancroft; her older siblings, Roscoe Bancroft Jr (Nina) of Lansing MI, Lois (Jim) Swain of Bellaire, MI, Dorothy "Dot," Best of Idaho, Joan Zink of Petoskey, MI , and Nancy (Ernie) Rembley of Merritt MI.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Christina Smith of Afton MI, Lloyd D. (Kelly) Scripter of Harbor Springs MI, and Goldie Scripter of Wayne, Michigan. She is also survived by her brother Jack Bancroft (AKA her hero) (Ramona) of Mancelona MI; brother-in-law, Albert Zink of Petoskey; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who were touched by her kindness and humor.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her warmth, her words, and her unwavering spirit.
A celebration of her life will be held on April 25,2026, at 1:00 PM at the Alanson park pavilion. Please come help us remember Bonnie and celebrate her life.
