Brittanie A. Hamlin, 36, a devoted mother, faithful wife, skilled Physician Assistant, and beloved member of her community, passed away on April 15, 2026, in Bethesda, Maryland. Born on January 13, 1990, in Painesville, Ohio, Brittanie’s life was a remarkable journey marked by unwavering strength, dedication, and love.
From an early age, Brittanie demonstrated a fierce commitment to her education and professional growth. A proud graduate of Mentor High School in Ohio in 2008, she pursued studies at John Carroll University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry. Determined to serve others through healthcare, she further advanced her expertise by completing a master's degree as a Physician Assistant from Baldwin Wallace University. Her professional journey was characterized by a steadfast attention to detail and a high standard of care—traits that defined her approach to medicine. Brittanie’s most cherished role was with the Johannesburg-Lewiston Area Schools partnership alongside Thunder Bay Community Health Service. There, she poured her heart into supporting the students, showing a genuine love for each one that extended beyond her duties. Her dedication often carried into her personal time, as she would rise early to check lab reports and follow up with patients after hours, exemplifying the deep responsibility she felt toward her practice.
While Brittanie’s career was a significant part of her identity, those who knew her best will remember her multifaceted personality—mentally, emotionally, and physically strong; extremely organized; authentically truthful and regimented. Though she cared deeply for others, she often kept her feelings private. Her faith became an increasingly visible pillar of her life as she regularly attended E-Free Church. Her relationship with God enriched her journey and gave her profound comfort.
Brittanie’s love story with Nick began meeting through match.com. Their engagement took place in the serene setting of Glen Arbor at The Homestead, a moment that would be cherished forever. On September 23, 2017, Brittanie and Nick were married in Midland. That same year, they planted roots by purchasing their first home in Gaylord—a place that Brittanie, initially a big city girl, came to deeply treasure as her home and small community. She and Nick built their lives together in more ways than one, developing their business, H2 Move, in Gaylord.
Despite her many accomplishments and joyful moments, Brittanie faced a formidable adversary: adrenal cancer. She fought courageously and with grace, often demonstrating the same strength she applied to all aspects of her life. Her passing came suddenly but poignantly, as she died shortly after doing something she loved—working out at the hospital, embracing life until the very end.
Above all, Brittanie’s proudest achievements were her two daughters, Henley and Aubrey. They were her world, her why, and the deepest well of her love and purpose. To Henley and Aubrey, she was not only a mother but a source of strength and inspiration.
Brittanie leaves behind a legacy of love, service, faith, and resilience. Her memory will forever remain a beacon to those fortunate enough to have known her gentle power and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
She is survived by her husband of 9 years, Nick; precious daughters, Henley (6), Aubrey (4); her father, David Bilski; her mother, Patricia (Scott) Kidd; her siblings, Nicholas (Amanda) Nebelski, Benjamin (Alex) Bilski and Hollie (Russell) Rondini; her mother and father-in-law, Michael and Christine Hamlin; her brother-in-law, Luke Hamlin; and her grandmother, Judy Nebelski.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dolores Harmon.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
