Carl James Johnson

Carl James Johnson, born on May 6, 1967, in Ogdensburg, NY, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, at the age of 58. He dedicated his life to the craft of hardscape masonry, working with passion at Drost Landscape in Petoskey, MI. Carl earned his Graduate Equivalence Degree and took great pride in his work within the landscaping industry.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa Johnson; and his children, Riley, Nicholas, Joshua, Samantha Hansen, Krista Mann; and step daughters, Linzee and Bailey Reinhardt. He was also a cherished grandfather to Zayden Cluck, Kash Hansen, Theo and Jayce Johnson, Jackson and Tucker Mann. He is additionally survived by his father, John Johnson. Carl's family meant the world to him, and he was known for his unwavering support and love for them.

Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Ginger Johnson.

In accordance with his wishes, Carl will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 11, 2026, at Landmark Baptist Church, 1182 Kemp Road, Petoskey. Those who knew Carl are invited to join the family in celebrating his life and sharing fond memories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
