Carol Ann Czinki, 87 of Gaylord, passed away on Sunday, January, 11, 2026.
Carol was raised in Detroit, MI -- Graduated from Cody High School While working at Kinney's Shoes, Carol met the love of her life, Ron. They began dating and were later married on May 31, 1958. Later, while building their cottage on Huffman Lake near Gaylord, Ron and Carol became interested in relocating their family here.
Ron and Carol, through a local builder Ron was acquainted with, learned the Gaylord area was lacking a glass company. This is how Gaylord Glass Co. came to be, opening in the spring of 1967. Carol worked as a secretary and part owner alongside Ron in both their retail glass shops and their wholesale glass company, North Pointe Inc., which they both owned and operated until Ron died in October 2018.
Carol loved her family and living on Huffman Lake. Her hobbies included playing piano, sewing, teaching Bible studies and serving in her churches over the years. Carol attended Walloon Lake Community Church with her daughter Cynthia. Her love for boating with Ron became a passion for both of them. They enjoyed boating on their lake, the North Channel in Canada and inter-coastal way in Florida. Carol logged memories of their boating days which she enjoyed reading to her family. Her favorite game was "Scrabble." She was very good at it and always won. We called her the "Scrabble Queen!"
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Emily Rutkowski; husband Ronald, and sister Janice Warneking.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia Czinki Ordway (Elmira) and David Czinki (Carson City); grandchildren, Megan (Joshua) Mickle (Memphis, TN); Danny (April) Czinki, and Dave Czinki both of Wolverine; and brother-in -law Alexander Czinki (Petoskey); three great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and her sister Mary Anne Kalte. She will be deeply missed by her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the following which were near and dear to Carol's heart: Right to Life of MI, New Life Pregnancy Center (Gaylord) and Samaritan's Purse.
