Carol L. Dezur

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol L. Dezur, a woman of indominable spirit and devotion, on December 30, 2025, at the age of 77.

Carol was full of dedication, having served the Detroit Medical Center and Trinity Healthcare for over 30 years. Her career was more than just a job; it was a testament to hard-work and advancement; a decades-long mission to provide her family with opportunities she never had. Even when faced with personal hardships, she persevered and remained focused on her life goals, proving that a career-oriented woman could be both a pioneer in the workplace and a mother to her 2 children at home.

Her professional drive was matched by her spiritual service. For more than a combined 45 years, Carol served as a Sunday School teacher at Gaylord Methodist Church in Gaylord, Michigan and, prior to that, as Sunday School coordinator and Christian Education Director at Big Beaver United Methodist Church in Troy, Michigan. She diligently gave herself to these roles, preparing lessons, supporting volunteers, running summer Vacation Bible School programs and encouraging the souls in her classroom.

Though her life was marked by challenges, Carol never allowed those to keep her from giving to others, and striving to better the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her steadfast husband of more than 50 years, her two children, her daughter-in-law, and 4 grandchildren.

A memorial service is being planned for a future date at Gaylord Methodist Church.
