Catherine Ann Hutchison

Catherine Ann Hutchison, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Cathy was born on August 14, 1950 to Eldon and Catherine Thompson in Alpena, MI. She grew up in Alpena and after high school, met the love of her life, Dennis "Hutch", while working at Perch's IGA. They married on April 5, 1969, raised three sons, and made their home in Gaylord in 1978.

Cathy built a beautiful life centered around her family. She was a devoted wife and an extraordinary mother. She was always happy, patient and caring, and her family was the center of her world. She also experienced immense joy in her role as a grandmother and was excitedly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild.

She was known for her kind and gentle spirit. She carried herself with grace and class, and her love for her family and friends was unwavering. She created countless cherished memories through family traditions, especially during the holidays. Bringing everyone together meant the most to her.

Cathy enjoyed arts and crafts, scrapbooking, and researching family history through genealogy. After her boys were grown, she spent time working at Country Casuals in Gaylord.

In her final days, Cathy found deep peace in her faith in God. She faced the end of her life with grace and comfort, knowing she would be reunited in heaven with the loved ones who had gone before her. Her legacy is one of love, selflessness, and devotion. Her impact on her family and friends will be felt forever, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Kurt (Lisa), Eric (Tori), and Ryan (Sarah); her grandchildren, Michael (Emily), Maxwell, and Taylor; her great-grandchild on the way, Roy-Lee Hutchison; her siblings, Mike (Cheryl) Thompson and Barb (Rick) Gapske. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Catherine Thompson.

A celebration of life for Cathy will take place 2:00 PM Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, where the family will visit with friends beginning at 1:00 PM. Pastor Scott Distler will officiate.
