Charles L. Johnson, 60 of Wolverine, died on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Born on May 14, 1953 in Durand, MI, Chuck was the son of James N. and Phyllis J. (Shook) Johnson. Chuck was gifted with the ability to fix anything and do many things. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He was truly a natural at repairing small engines, and will be remembered as the lawn mower repairman of Wolverine. Chuck was a big man with a big heart who had a wonderful sense of humor and who enjoyed a good practical joke. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always in the company of his dog, Lassie Girl. He is survived by Judy, his wife of 36 years; his children, Jennifer Johnson of California, Tara Johnson of South Carolina, Michael (Amanda Scott) Greenwald of Columbiaville, Nathan (Jodi Hohenstein) Blatt of Otter Lake and Chad (Michele) Johnson of Topinabee; 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sisters Deborah (Jim) Plourde of Flint and Linda (Dave Gerwolds) Wilson of Columbiaville; brothers James (Cindy) Johnson of Davison and Randy Johnson of Wolverine and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Keith Floyd Russell, and a brother, Terrence Johnson. Friends may call after 10:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Avenue in Gaylord where funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon with Pastor Bob Moody officiating.
