Daniel "Dan" Belanger was born in Flint, MI in 1955. Dan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Dan spent much of his life in Clio, Michigan until he and his wife, Pam, moved to Indian River, Michigan in 2010, after he retired from the Clio Area Schools building maintenance team. He and his wife Pam divorced in 2020.
A man of the outdoors, Dan found solace in nature. He had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, hobbies that connected him deeply to the beauty of the world around him. Whether casting a line into the water or trekking through the woods, Dan found joy in these moments, and he passed on his love of the outdoors to his family.
His girlfriend Kim had been in his life for several years and they both loved and cared for each other deeply.
Dan is survived by sons, Mark, Josh (Michelle), Jared (Amanda); grandchildren, Grant, Katherine, Ethan, Hunter; brothers, Randy and Michael; and sisters, Michelle, Cindy, and Connie.
Dan was preceded in death by his son, Jason (2003); father, Lennard (2007); brother Dennis (2011); and mother, Pearl (2019).
The loss of Dan is deeply felt by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on in the stories shared, the lessons learned, and the love he gave so freely.
Rest in peace Dan. You are loved and will be missed.
Per Dan’s request-cremation will take place directly following death with a private memorial event scheduled by family at a later date.
