Daniel R. McCallum

Daniel McCallum was raised in Canada by his parents and came to Michigan to work at Chrysler, a machine shop and did custom upholstery on furniture. When he moved to Hawks Michigan, he bred championship beagles and loved hunting with them. He had a sharp mind and funny personality, especially while playing card games. Christine and he would sit quietly watching the deer come into the property and enjoyed the natural surroundings of their home.

He later remarried Christine and they always welcomed family into their home to share meals and weekends with them. The gatherings included many card games, campfires, and music.

He leaves behind his daughters, Catherine McCallum(Jay Schick) and Debra Urben. Cherished grandfather to Robert(Katie)Urben, Matthew(Jessica)Urben and the late David(Angela)Urben. Great grandchildren; Chloe, Andre, Quinn and Liam. Preceded in death by his beloved brother Pat and sister-in-law Barb. He also leaves behind niece and nephew; Bill and Denise.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Christine, mother-in-law, Florence Stewart; brothers-in-law Thomas Esch and James Weeks; and sister-in-law, Cherri Norum.

Future plans for a service will be shared with the family. His remains will be cremated with the help of the staff at Gaylord Community Funeral Home.
