Daniel Allan Sharrard

Daniel Allan Sharrard, 79 of Gladstone, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at his son’s home in Gaylord.

Born on June 7, 1943 in Bay City, he was the son of Dan and Ethel (Malley) Sharrard.  Dan was a long time resident of Essexville, and retired from General Motors Saginaw Steering Gear plant in June of 1999.  After retiring, Dan moved to Gladstone in the Upper Peninsula. 

Throughout his life he enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting.  He will be remembered by many as a skilled “grill master”.  Dan was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion, and UAW Local 699.

Dan is survived by his children, Keith and Sandy Sharrard, Todd and Marianne Sharrard, and Carrie and Phil Schafer; grandchildren, Sarah (Nick), Samantha (Jordan), Summer (Alex), Danny, Amber (Keith), Ashley, and Hannah; great grandchildren, Charlee, Lucy, Sebastian, Gabriella, Atticus, Kash, Briella, Jayden, and Bella; a brother, Gary (Kathy) Sharrard; a sister, Carol Roe and their families; and his former wife and mother of his children, Judy Seelinger. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; his parents, Dan and Ethel Sharrard; and a sister, Gail Huskins.

His family will remember him privately at this time and arrangements for a celebration of his life are pending.
