Debra Loshaw

Debra A. Loshaw from Vanderbilt, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 2, 2026. She was born August 1, 1957 to the late Eugene and Louisa Mae Sides. Debbie graduated in 1975 from Gaylord High School. Debbie met the love of her life, John Loshaw and they married on September 16, 1978. 

Debbie's family was her pride and joy. She celebrated her 69th birthday surrounded by her family. She was a nurturer by heart. 

Debbie took great joy in gardening. She loved the flower beds she created along with canning the fruits of her own planting and she shared that love with her children and grandchildren. From June to September you could find her in one of her gardens planting, weeding, and harvesting what she had sown. 

Debbie found great peace at home in the countryside with John, in the house they built together where they raised their three daughters. You could often find Debbie outside visiting others or enjoying the sounds of nature.

Over the years, she explored countless sights with her family, creating a lifetime of cherished memories together. She loved venturing to the Pigeon River for an early evening ride. Casino getaways were always one of her favorite times. 

Debbie is survived by her loving husband John Loshaw and their three daughters: Stacey (Jason) Buchinger, Nichole (Matt) Soderquist, and Gina (Randy) Lopshire. Grandchildren: Hope Buchinger, Kaylee Butcher, Hannah Butcher, Bela Soderquist, Kizzie Soderquist, Violet Soderquist, Johnathan Loshaw, and Rayden Lopshire Siblings: Mike (Georgette) Sides, Jean (Brian) Heuer, Ken (Jenny) Sides, Tom Sides, Edith Sides-Taskey, Ron (Shelly) Sides, Brenda Loshaw (Sister-In-Law/Best Friend), and Douglas Robinson (Brother-In-Law). She was blessed with many nieces & nephews and aunts & uncles.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Louisa Sides, Richard Loshaw (Father in law), Larry and Eleanor Bennett (Father-in-law & Mother-In-Law), Thomas Loshaw (Brother-In-Law), Kim Robinson (Sister-In-Law), Todd Taskey (Brother-In-Law).

The family invites you to celebrate Debbie's life on Friday August 7, 2026 at 1pm at the Gaylord Fraternal Order of Eagles, 515 S. Wisconsin St, Gaylord, MI 49735. A meal will be provided at this time.

To honor Debbie, those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the T.A.C.K.L.E. Fund of the Otsego Community Foundation. Be sure to make the check to Otsego Community Foundation.
