Debra Ann McMahon, 69 of Gaylord, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Born on November 25, 1952 in Detroit, she was the daughter of Phillip and Jamelia (Habib) Thomas. 

She loved “the north country”, having lived in Roscommon, Grayling, and Petoskey before moving to Gaylord, where she has lived for many years.

Debbie was married downstate, where she worked a nurse aide before she moved up north.  She also worked as a nurse aide in Grayling.  In Gaylord, she worked for a time as a server at LaSenorita.

Family always came first for Debbie; she lived for her large, Lebanese family, who will remember her for the kind, generous person she was.  She loved to read and learn, she was passionate about music and very artistic. 

Debbie is survived by her daughter, Deana White and her grandson, Justin White, both of Waterford; sisters, Dolores Thomas of North Carolina, Diane McNicholl of New Baltimore, and Denise Thompson Brumley of Alabama; brothers, David Thomas of Canton, Doug Thomas of Higgins Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Perry Thomas and Darlene Roper; and a brother, Danny Thomas. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord.
