Dennis James Doyle

Dennis James Doyle of Clio, Michigan passed away in his daughter's home in Brutus, on August 4, 2026, after a nearly three year battle with cancer.

Dennis had 10 brothers and one sister. His mom was convinced Denny was going to be a girl, but when he was born on April fools day that fell on Easter, his mom called him her April Fools Easter Bunny, because he had tricked everyone and was in fact the 11th boy in the Doyle Family.

Denny came to Northern Michigan with his parents 4th of July weekend 1980, and realized this is where he wanted to call home. He got married and started a family in Petoskey and never left. He was a very proud dad always checking in with a phone call or a visit.

Denny worked for many years painting and general handyman jobs.

Denny had an outgoing personality and befriended most anyone he met and was willing to help out when people needed it.

Anyone who knew Denny knew he loved watching his favorite sports teams play. He loved the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and most of all University of Michigan. His favorite was watching the Michigan Wolverines play football and even better when they would beat Michigan State!

He served in the army during the Vietnam years spending most of his time in Germany. When his drill sergeant noticed he had a ball glove in his bag he was instantly part of the softball team. Anyone who knows the Doyle boys knew softball ran in their blood!

We want to thank Hospice and especially his nurse Amy for her exceptional care.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Emma Doyle, his siblings Jim, Bob, Chuck, Bill, Ed, Joe, John Louey, Kenny Tom, and MaryGene.

Dennis will be forever remembered by his daughters Bekki (Brandon) Bielas of Edmonds,WA, Ashley (Shawn) Kelley of Brutus, MI, and Ellen (Chris) Hughey of Wolverine, MI. He was also the proud Papa to 8 grandkids, Sterling, Jacob, Raven, Thomas, Alice, Franklin, Ethel, and Owen.

The family will remember Dennis privately.
