Douglas Boyd Dailey

 Douglas Boyd Dailey, 78 of Cheboygan, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022, at McLaren Hospice House in Cheboygan, surrounded by his family.

Born March 28, 1944, in Pontiac, MI, he was the son of Donald B & Donna M (Houser) Dailey.  Doug grew up in Cheboygan and graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1962.

In 1964, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.  He returned to Cheboygan where he worked for Procter and Gamble, before transferring to Cincinnati for 22 Years.  Later Doug worked for the Great Oaks Vocational School, retiring in 2008 and moving back to Cheboygan. 

Doug became very active at the Cheboygan Historical Center and Museum where he enjoyed restoring old photographs of the city and surrounding areas.  He loved spending time with his son, his daughter in-law, and grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Marvin Moore.  Doug is survived by his son, Donald (Mandy) Dailey; a sister Sandy Moore; and grandkids, Jordan Dailey, Hannah Dailey, Brandyn (Chelsey) Oliver, Sierra Oliver, and Dylan Oliver; and one great grandson, Hudson Oliver.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Cheboygan History Center or Hospice House of Cheboygan.

A celebration of life to remember Doug will be held from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Cheboygan History Center in Cheboygan, Michigan.
