Edgar W. Costello, affectionately known as Eddie, was born on September 11, 1971, in Gaylord, Michigan. He passed away on September 13, 2025, in the place he called home. Edgar leaves behind a legacy marked by his dedication to his career and a life that reflected his cherished interests.
Eddie was a diligent lineman and journeyman for over 20 years, demonstrating not only skill in his trade but also a strong work ethic that earned him the respect of his colleagues. He graduated from Vanderbilt High School in 1989 before advancing his education in lineman training at Alpena Community College. His commitment to excellence in his field was admired by many.
Though he kept to himself, those who knew Edgar were aware of his passions. He enjoyed the thrill of hunting with his dad during years gone by, relishing the bonding moments and the tranquility that nature offered. His adventurous spirit was also evident through his love for dirt bikes, which brought him joy and excitement. Music was another significant aspect of Eddie's life; he found enjoyment in concerts and the melodies that resonated with his soul, connecting him to memories and emotions.
He is survived by his four siblings, Rhonda Costello of Mio, Paul (Ronalee) Costello of Gaylord, Patrick Costello of Alanson and Michele (Paul) Paolino of Vanderbilt; nieces and nephews, Betsy, Jessica, Anthony, Taylor, Joshua, Meganne, Kaylynne and Terran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard in 1994 and I. Jean in 2024; and his sister-in-law, Melissa Costello in 2024.
