Edward Duski, Sr., 93 of Gaylord, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025, at McReynolds Hall.
Born August 18, 1932, in East Pike, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Steven and Anna (Yanchus) Duski.
Ed left home at an early age and joined the United States Air Force, serving honorably for 20 years. During his career he worked as a military police officer and in intelligence. He was also an honor guard member, usually carrying the American Flag, and once paraded in front of Queen Elizabeth. Ed was proud of his country and proud to serve in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1970 as a Master Sargeant.
In 1952 he married Una M. Brace, a young lady from St. Johns Newfoundland. Their family grew to include three children, Ed Jr., Mary, and Debra. After retiring from the Air Force, the family settled in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Ed worked in auto sales in Sault Ste. Marie at Roe Chevrolet, which later became Sadler Chevrolet and eventually Rodenroth Motors. He was noted as being one of the “Four Horsemen” at the dealership.
In his spare time, Ed was an avid woodworker, and he enjoyed working around his home; he loved spending time on his John Deere tractor, and his lawn and gardens were always well manicured.
Ed is survived by his loving family; a daughter, Mary Hesselink of Rudyard; a son, Edward Duski, Jr. DDS of Gaylord; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Debra Elizabeth Duski; his daughter-in-law, Janis (Chmura)Duski DDS; and all of his brothers and sisters.
In keeping with his wishes, Ed’s family will remember him privately with burial at North Rudyard Cemetery.
