Elva M. Petro

Elva M. Petro, 78 of Gaylord, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Born on February 28, 1936 in Richmond, MI, she was the daughter of James and Elna (Schwartz) Hay. On May 2, 1956 she was married to Robert E. Petro in Clare.

Elva is survived by Robert, her husband of 58 years; her children, Doug Petro of Gaylord and Sandra (Marcus) Matelski of Gaylord; grandchildren, Amanda (John) Novak of Pinconning and Megan Matelski of Gaylord; great grandchildren, Brittany and Noah Matelski of Gaylord and John Novak III of Pinconning; and a sister, Ruth Volkening of Gaylord. She was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Hamlin and a brother, Ralph Hay.

Elva’s family will remember her privately and no services are scheduled. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay.
