Esther E. Winterlee, 84 of Lewiston, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Aspen Ridge in Gaylord.
Born on August 11, 1936 in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of John J. Sr. and Eulavee M. (Livingston) Converse. She was a longtime Flint and Mt. Morris resident. After retiring, she moved to Lewiston.
Esther worked for 35 years as an assistant manager at the St. Vincent DePaul store in Flint. In her spare time she enjoyed playing golf and bowling, especially traveling to various bowling tournaments. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing.
On February 20, 1955 Esther married James E. Winterlee. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2013. She was also preceded in death by brothers, John and Leroy Converse; a grandson, Scott Lee and a great granddaughter.
Surviving are her children, Denise (Eugene) Lee-Dikeman of Lewiston, Vickie (Perry Papendick) Nicholls of Grayling; Jamie (Harold) Blandford of Lewiston and Russell Winterlee of Mt. Morris; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur (Pat) Converse of Florida.
In keeping with her wishes, her family will remember her privately at this time with a memorial dinner to be held at a later date. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the breast cancer research organization of your choice.
