Eva J Laney

Eva Jean Laney, 93 of Bellaire, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Gaylord. Born on April 8, 1920 in Marion, Eva was the daughter of Fred and Pearl (Cooper) Fritz. In 1940 in Gatlinburg, TN, Eva married Willis R. Laney. Residing in Flint, they had two children, Ginger and Gerald. Willis preceded her in death in 1973. In 1974 Eva moved to Alpena. For a time she lived at the farm in Herron, before moving to Bellaire in 1977. For several years, Eva wintered in Leesburg, FL until about 2000. An avid flower gardener, she especially enjoyed caring for her roses. Eva loved the holidays, her family and her home. For several years she also enjoyed attending Central Lake Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Ginger J. Daggett of Gaylord; her son, Gerald R. Laney of Harbor Springs; a grandson Tony (Melissa) Daggett and a great grandson, Jacob all of Flint. Eva was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Olive Fritz. Family and friends will gather at her Bellaire home, 118 South Genessee Street to remember Eva on Sunday, November 3rd beginning at 12:00 noon.
