Gail Ellen Blair

Gail Ellen Blair, 62 of Atlanta, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Aspen Ridge in Gaylord. 

Born in Toledo, Ohio on January 28, 1962, she was the daughter of Clifford and Alice (Payne) Bowser. 

After graduating from high school, Gail was one of just a few women who, at that time, entered the carpenter apprentice program through the Toledo Carpenters’ Union. Skilled in her work, she was a carpenter for 28 years, retiring in 2012. Through her work with the Carpenters local, Gail met Scott Allen Blair, they later married in 2002. 

Gail and Scott loved the outdoors of northern Michigan, so they moved to the Atlanta area after retiring. Gail loved the outdoors, volunteering at the Toledo Metro Parks, and wildlife photography. 

She is survived by her husband, Scott; son Maj. Chad (Tarri) Pennington, USA of Germany; a stepson, Aaron Blair of Toledo; 4 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. The youngest of nine children, Gail is survived by three brothers and four sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
