Gregory David Goodwin passed away peacefully after a short illness on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at his home.

Greg was born in Petoskey on July 14, 1957, to Terrence and Lareatha (McFarland) Goodwin. Greg enjoyed hunting, morel mushroom picking, tending to his flower garden, watching baseball, football, and cheering on the Lions. He also enjoyed hosting many parties for his family and friends over the years.

Greg became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1988 and remained faithful to his death. He was a member of the Petoskey congregation for 37 years.

Greg worked many years for Superior Siding and Trim with his good friend Mike Yorke, Astro Building Products, and recently was employed at Harbor General EZ Mart, affectionately known as Gerg.

Greg is survived by his wife Dawn of 37 years, a stepson, Charlie (LaChanda) Fitol of Harbor Springs, three grandsons: Alex Fitol (Fiancé Cori Baldwin) of Alanson, Seth Fitol of Wallkill NY, and Owen Fitol of Harbor Springs. Greg has four siblings: Terrence Goodwin of Sidnaw MI, Vicki (Mike) Sisson of Holdrege NE, Kelly Cox of CT, and Pat Goodwin of Petoskey. He is also survived by sister-in-law April Backus, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on Sunday October 12th at 3:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1830 Shaw Road in Petoskey. A luncheon will follow at the Littlefield Township Hall, 7631 US-31 Alanson.

His wife would like to acknowledge and thank Greg's family for all of the support they have given, as well as the support that has been received from their many friends.
