Jacqueline A. Bliss
Jacqueline A. Bliss, 94 of Vanderbilt, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at
The Brook in Gaylord. Born in Detroit on January 26, 1929, she was the daughter
of William and Anna (Volker) Jackson.
On May 14, 1949, she married Charles Grant Bliss in Detroit Michigan. They lived
in Riverview for many years where they raised their family. In retirement, they
moved to Northern Michigan where they’ve made home ever since. She was a
stay-at-home mom, raising her 6 children, being involved in every aspect of their
lives. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church in her healthier years and was
involved in Kiwanis. She loved horses, dogs, feeding the deer corn. She enjoyed
crocheting, making dolls and Afghans.
Surviving her children, Kirk (Nancy) Bliss, Kathy (Art) Iler, Colleen (Bill)
Susewitz, Cary (Terry) Bliss and Kevin (Barbara) Bliss; grandchildren, Amy,
Tammy, Jason, Chris, Heather and Eric; and great grandchildren, Russell, Kinley,
Charles and a baby due in April.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Grant and
her eldest son, Carl F. Bliss, navy military veteran.
A memorial service will take place 11:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2023 at Gaylord
Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where the family will visit with
friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Please share your memories and personal
