James “Jim” E. Brock, born July 3, 1940, in Charlevoix, Michigan, to dairy farmers Harold Ralph Brock and Goldie (Wilber) Brock, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025, with his devoted wife of 64 years, Joyce, faithfully by his side.
Jim was preceded in death by his sister Joanne and his brothers Jerry, Richard, and Harold. He is survived by his sister Sarah, along with a large and loving family who will forever hold his memory close. Though he will be deeply missed here on earth, his family takes comfort in knowing he is joyfully reunited in heaven with his three children—Samiaha, Jimmy, and Shelly. Jim leaves behind four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each one blessed by his steady love, gentle humor, and kind spirit.
Jim built a full, honest, and hardworking life in Flint, Michigan, where he raised his family and spent his career with Fisher Body. Sundays at the Brock home were sacred—filled with family, laughter, conversation, and the simple joy of fresh donuts shared around the table.
A man at peace in nature, Jim was never happier than when he was “up north.” He treasured fishing trips, long scenic nighttime drives spotting deer, and quiet afternoons spent birdwatching with binoculars in hand. A patient and talented craftsman, he loved working with tools and creating with wood—building birdhouses, side tables, and other projects that reflected his creativity and care.
Jim was blessed to spend his final days in northern Michigan at McReynolds Hall nursing facility, surrounded by the unwavering presence of his beloved wife.
Those who knew Jim will remember his gentle steadiness, his deep devotion to family, and the peaceful, thoughtful way he moved through the world. His life was rich with simple joys, hard work, and a heart always pointed back toward home in northern Michigan.
He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
