Janet L. Fries

Janet L. Fries, 78 of Elmira, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at home. Born on October 5, 1944, in Flint, she was the daughter of Leo and Ora McLain.

Janet loved spending time with her family, playing board games, singing karaoke, going to the beach, camping, and teasing her husband, Kris. He was the love of her life and his love and care of her was especially appreciated later in life by her whole family.

Janet is survived by her husband of 8 years, together for 13, Kris; her children, David (Cheryl) Fraser, Diana Brock, Donna (David) Farenger, James Fraser and Stacy (Brian) Harris; ten loving grandchildren, Shawn, Justin, Jason, Amanda, Brian, Michael, Kristin, Jennifer, Bradley and JD; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Elve McLain.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leonard McClain; sisters, Betty McLure and June Sadler; and a son-in-law, James Brock.

A Memorial Gathering will take place Friday, April 28, 2023, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kris Fries. Please share your memories and personal messages with the family on her guestbook below.
