Jeffrey (Jeff) S. Arch (PE), 56, of Gaylord, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 11, 2022. He was born on May 7, 1965, the son of Wilber and Darlene (Weirauch) Arch in Saginaw, MI.
He graduated from Swan Valley High School in Shields, Mi. Jeff actively participated in basketball & golf while in school. Jeff remained in contact with many of his friends from his youth. Jeff gained his love for sports, hunting and fishing from his father, Wilber (Buzz). The love of reading books he got from his mother (Darlene).
After High School, Jeff attended Michigan Technological University in Upper Michigan and graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree. Jeff became a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity while at school and also was a member of the Air Force ROTC. While in the fraternity Jeff made many lifelong friends. Jeff continued to volunteer his time and talents to the fraternity throughout his life.
After Michigan Tech, Jeff accepted a job in Fairfax, VA. After being around the hustle and bustle of the Washington DC area, Jeff wanted to get back to the Midwest. He returned to the Detroit area for a few years and then eventually found himself in Gaylord. Jeff worked with his good college friend Kevin Sagasser at Sagasser & Associates in Environmental Consulting.
Jeff had a way of making himself known when he walked into a room. Whether it was his tall stature, his loud chuckle or the way he carried himself. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He shared his love of hunting, fishing, sports and playing cards with many. Jeff will be remembered for his: sense of humor, laughter, strong work ethic and for always giving a helping hand to everyone.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother: Darlene Arch; siblings: Kristine (Kevin) Brassil and Michael Arch; nieces: Lauren, Dani, and Jenna; nephew: Liam; and his canine companion: Libby. He is preceded in death by his father: Wilber Arch.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life for Jeff in Gaylord during the summer.
