John B Heiser

John B. Heiser, 75 of Gaylord, died Friday, January 25, 2013 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. Born on November 22, 1937 in Denver, Colorado, John was the son of Edwin and Edith (Bond) Heiser. He attended Henry Ford Community College where he received his Associates Degree in Commerce. John served in the United States Army from 1961-64. In December of 1969 he married Lorraine Pakulski. With his wife, John owned Alpine Septic in Gaylord providing septic system installation and service. In his youth, John was a Boy Scout and was proud to have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. In high school he served as a counselor at scout camp. He was an avid golfer and was proud of his 1987 hole-in-one on the 16th hole at Wilderness Valley. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and cherished his annual “card camp” trips with his friends. John is survived by his wife, Lorraine, his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Ed Weinheimer of Gaylord and grandchildren Charlie and Madeline Weinheimer. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Phyllis Heiser of Ypsilanti and several nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service and interment will be held in the spring for family and friends. The family requests that memorial contributions in his memory be made to the Boy Scouts of America through Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 N. Center Ave. P.O. Box 249, Gaylord, MI 49734. A graveside service and interment with military honors will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Resurrection Cemetery, Winters Road and Old 27, just south of Vanderbilt.
