Johnny W. Cryderman, 79 of Vanderbilt, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at home with family by his side. Born in Flint, Michigan on September 13, 1944, he was the son of William and Betty (Bishop) Cryderman.
On April 16, 1966, Johnny married the love of his life, Kathy (Renard) at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Vanderbilt. Their marriage was the very first marriage to take place at the church. For many years, he worked in the construction industry, continuously working hard to take care of his family. He loved deer hunting and bear hunting with hounds. He took great pride in being a member of the U.P. Bear Houndsmen Association. He was a handyman, building pole barns and tinkering with odds and ends along with always lending a hand to others.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Katherine; children, Dawn Cryderman-Sowles of Moulton, AL, David (Rebecca) Cryderman of Colorado Springs, CO, Baily (Lori) Cryderman of Grand Rapids, John (Nicole) Cryderman of Gaylord and Katrina (Detuaine) Tucker of Jackson; 23 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Thomas and Karen Cryderman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, April Cryderman and Lucretia Thomas; brothers, Charlie Cryderman, Victor Buffy and Lonnie Cryderman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Vanderbilt. The family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the U.P. Bear Houndsmen Association, North 13421 J1 Road, Carney, MI 49812.
