Leonard F. Mueller

Leonard Franklin Mueller, 86 of Gaylord, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at home.

Born in Tawas City, Michigan, he was the son of Ernest and Alma (Kukuk) Mueller.  He grew up in Tawas City where he graduated from high school.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Leonard worked in construction and lived in Grand Rapids.  He met his future wife in Gaylord where he later moved to be married and where they raised their one daughter.  In Gaylord he worked at the Gaylord Eagles and at the Fireside as bar manager.

Leonard was a member of the Gaylord Eagles where he was a Golden Eagle and enjoyed bowling in the Eagles league.  While working at the Fireside he maintained the ball diamond and was also instrumental in helping build the Gaylord Little League fields.

Leonard is survived by his daughter, Mary (Dan) Soldan of Gaylord; granddaughters, Jennifer and Sherri; and great grandchildren, Jackson and Maverick.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jean Phillips and a brother, Ernest Mueller.

A celebration of his life will be held beginning at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Gaylord Eagles hall.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
