Michael R. Keene

Michael R. Keene, 45 of Johannesburg, died on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at home. Born on May 1, 1968 in Belleville, Mike was the son of Robert and Susan (Posegay) Keene. A skilled carpenter, Mike was very active, especially enjoying hunting, fishing and he was a licensed diver. On October 28, 1995 he married Dana (Engelman)Spierling. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Troy Spierling. Mike is survived by his wife, Dana; daughters, Brooke Keene and Torri Spierling both of Johannesburg; sons, Dr. Tristan (Tiffany) Spierling of Stillwater, OK and Travis (Kacie) Spierling of Cedar Springs; his sister, Connie Keene-Meyer; brother-in-law, Larry Meyer; brother Bob Keene; sister-in-law, Fran Keene; grandchildren, Annabelle, Landon, Colton, Hannah and Callum Spierling; his nephews, Joshua, Jacob, Jeremy Meyer and Alex Keene and his nieces, who were also his Goddaughters, Jessica Meyer and Erica Keene. A family memorial service for Mike will be held at the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church. Arrangements are by Gaylord Community Funeral Home.
