Michael Henry Tribu

Michael Henry Tribu, 61 of Wolverine, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

Born on January 29, 1962, in Detroit, Mike was the son of Henry and Genevieve (Masser) Tribu.  We grew up in Warren, graduating from Warren Woods Tower High School in 1980.  An accomplished high school swimmer, Mike’s state record in the breaststroke still stands today.

Mike worked for 24 years at Alro Steel as a Maintenance Supervisor before retiring.

He will be remembered by his family and friends as an avid outdoorsman.  He loved hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, his guns and shooting.  A skilled “backyard mechanic”, Mike could fix anything.  He was happiest around a campfire with friends, family, and his beloved dogs, or working around his property on his 1949 Ford 8N tractor.

Mike is survived by his wife Amy, whom he married on December 29, 2017.  They realized their goal of moving to northern Michigan with their move to property they had found near Wolverine, in 2020.

Also surviving are his children, Ben Arney of Warren, Stephanie (Lenny) Amore of Utica and Steven (Katie) Tribu of Clinton Township; his stepchildren, Rebecca Trexler of Wolverine, Zachary Koontz of Wolverine, and Anthony (Korena) Koontz of Clinton Township; grandchildren, Alexandra, Hailey, Anthony, Ava, Hazle, and Nalaya; his parents, Henry and Genevieve Tribu of Summerfield, FL; brothers, Mark (Beth) Tribu of Clinton Township, and Paul (Jenny) Tribu of Utica; a nephew, Nicholas; and a niece, Nicole.

Mike’s family will remember him privately with a celebration of his life.  Those who wish may share their memories and personal messages with the family on the guestbook, below.
