On May 20, 2026, Trix, 77, passed away peacefully at his home with loved ones around him. He was born on December 10, 1948, in South Bend and later made his home in Boyne City with his wife, Joellen Trixler.
Trix was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, businessman, and friend. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971, serving his country with honor and dedication. After his military service, he became the owner of Trixler Insulation and Roofing, where he spent many years building a respected business through hard work, reliability, and commitment to his community.
Trix had a deep love for waterskiing on Walloon Lake and found peace and happiness in the beauty of northern Michigan. Whether spending time on the water or with those he loved most, he appreciated life's simple moments and the memories they created. Trix was also well known for his amazing hat collection, which reflected his personality, style, and sense of fun.
Above all else, Trix loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Joellen Trixler; his daughter, Kaci, and son-in-law, David; his son, Jeremy; and his cherished grandchildren, Caden, Piper, Avery, and Hayes. He is also survived by his sisters, Joanne Ray and Peg Pannos (Mike); and his brother, Patrick Trixler (Susie), and several nieces and nephews, and special cousin Marguerite Trixler.
Trix will be remembered for his strength, kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Trix's life will be held June 7, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Eagles in Boyne City.
