Michael M. Karaschin

Michael M. Karaschin, 71 of Vanderbilt, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan. Born on November 26, 1946, he was the son of Melvin and Arlene (Marrow) Karaschin.

For several years, Mike worked for Exterran in the parts department, retiring in 2015. He was a Jack of All Trades. Many friends and neighbors would bring their lawn mowers, snowplows and other items to him as he was known as the ‘fix it guy’. He enjoyed rebuilding small engines and tinkering outside. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Jason of Vanderbilt and Jesse of Sterling Heights; grandchildren, Jarrod, Cameron, Jacob, Justin, Ariel, Talan and Anthony and his sister, Arlene Coulter of Evart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Vickie in 2016.
