Mildred M. Smith

Mildred M. Smith, 79 of Vanderbilt, passed away at home on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

Born in Cheboygan on May 20, 1940, she was the daughter of Edward and Lila Bell (Jarvis) Leach.  On June 7, 1958 she was united in marriage to Archie Smith. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2007.

Mildred worked for many years at Wolverine Community Schools as a bus driver and custodian.  She enjoyed cross stitch and bird watching and for the last several years of her life she enjoyed traveling to new places with her companion, Ray Lick.

Mildred is survived by her companion of 11 years, Ray Lick of Vanderbilt; a daughter, Sherry Jackson of Vanderbilt; grandchildren, Valerie (Jake) Langone of Indian River and David (Amanda) Smith of Gaylord; great grandchildren, Jacob, Douglas, Alyssa, AJ, Cameron, Brooklyn and Addison; sisters, Barbara (Harry Mcfarland) Jacobs, June (Bob) Bollinger and Beverly (Pat) Jacobson and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by sisters, Edna, Violet and Mert; and brothers, Jerry, Al and Don.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine.
