Nancy Jo (Mema) Grubaugh, 78 of Elmira, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Born in Grand Rapids on May 13, 1947, she was the daughter of Robert and Phyllis (VanBelkum) Rogers. She grew up in Grand Rapids and Boyne City, traveling with her parents to the places his work took them.
On September 23, 1964, Nancy married Ronald Grubaugh in Davisburg. They made their home and raised their family in Elmira.
Nancy enjoyed her work at Community Mental Health, where she assisted those with disabilities.
Nancy had a special love for her dog, Sammy. She loved country music, shopping (especially at Walmart), watching family play sports, time at the beach, and yard sales. Holidays, especially Christmas, were special to her, and she enjoyed the preparations for baking.
Surviving are her children, Patsy (Neil) Clink, Ronda (Henry) Davis, Pamela Grubaugh, Ron (Dawn) Grubaugh II, Milton (Samantha) Grubaugh, Peggy (Chris) Gregware, Joshua (Megan) Grubaugh, and Justin (Sarah) Grubaugh; grandchildren, Katrena (Dale) Wangler, Michael Grubaugh, Elliot Clink, Jessica (Dan) Boulter, Erica (Justin) Whitmire, Corisica (Tim) Mager, Melissa (Tanner) Grubaugh, Krystal (Dante) Grubaugh, Jacob (Emily) Gregware, Johanna Gregware, Milton Grubaugh Jr, Jenavieve Martin, Evander Nugent, Ethan Patton, Addilynn Grubaugh, Justin Grubaugh Jr, Harper Prusikiewicz, Agnes Prusikiewicz, and Thatcher Grubaugh; many great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jim Grubaugh; sisters-in-law, Marilee Farrow, and Patricia Brunett; her best friend and “sister by choice”, Alice Campbell; and their families.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Phyllis; her husband, Ronald Grubaugh on March 30, 2013; 5 infant siblings; and a great grandson, Joseph Fennell.
A celebration of her life will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Hudson Township Hall, 7865 Reynolds Road, in Elmira.
