Norbert Reginald Sklark

Norbert "Norb" Sklark, 89, of Gaylord, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, surrounded by his immediate family.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Edward and Susan, their spouses, Ana and Diniz, as well as his siblings, Dolores, Virginia, and Donald.

Born and raised in Gaylord, Norb graduated from Gaylord High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. He enlisted in 1955 and served for eight years, including three years in Japan, one year in England, and two years in France.

In 1963, he married his beloved wife, Luz Del Alba, and they shared 62 devoted years together. Luz passed away in January 2026, and Norb now rests with her in peace.

Norb was a hardworking and dedicated man throughout his life. He spent 28 years with Gaylord State Bank before retiring in 1991. Never one to sit still, he went on to start his own tree removal business, serving the Gaylord community for more than a decade.

Outside of work, Norb found great joy in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and took pride in his carpentry skills, always building and fixing things with care and craftsmanship.

A visitation will be held on Friday May 8, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Gaylord Community Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Otsego County Commission on Aging, which supports local dementia and caregiver services in Gaylord.
