Norman Robert Clements was born on September 24, 1933, in Hastings, England and passed away on January 2, 2026, in Petoskey, Michigan at 92 years of age. Norm was a beloved son of Arthur and Hilda Clements and had five siblings Edwin, Ella, Eileen, Gladys, and Gordon.
Norm is survived by his two daughters Catherine Dockery and Cynthia (Gary) Wiegand. Norm had three grandchildren: John Dula, Adrion Dula (Joseph Kuhn), and Emily Wolka (Jeff) and five great grandchildren: Kadence Kuhn, Phoenix Dula, London Dula, Waylon Dula, Kathleen Wolka.
He was a goalie for the soccer team, Saint Andrew's Scotts, in England and later was a collegiate referee in the States along with his brother, Eddie.
Norm married Patricia Ann Jensen in 1953 and two weeks later he was sent to Korea and served in the 11th airborne. He was employed at Dalgleish, Cadillac most of his career. Together Norm and Patricia built a home in Troy, and he added many custom upgrades to their home. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and landscaping. Norm made ice rinks in the backyard for skating and hockey games and took his daughters, Catherine and Cynthia, tobogganing and skiing. He was an instructor for a local ski school and Pat was a bus captain and lunch supervisor. Through the years the girls learned to ski and spent many enjoyable times on the slopes.
Norm took his family on annual camping trips with his brother Eddie and family. Manitoulin island was one of the favorite destinations, a remote campground that was filled with swimming, snorkeling, boating, fishing, and wonderful adventures.
In 1981 he married Sandy Druker, and they enjoyed boating at the Detroit Yacht Club and traveling He made home remodeling and restoration a successful business and his son-in-law, Gary, worked with Norm to learn the business. Norm taught Gary everything he knew, and Gary started and currently works as a custom builder in his own successful business, Wiegand construction.
Norm retired to a farmhouse on five acres originally owned by Hemingway in East Jordan and always enjoyed attending and hosting social gatherings. Norm was preceded in death by his two wives, Patricia and Sandy, and his grandson, John. He will be missed by many friends and family.
