Pamela L. Yarrington, 66 of Gaylord, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Grayling Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Grosse Ile, Michigan she was the daughter of Billie and Matilda (Terbrack) Johnson. The family moved to Gaylord in the 1960’s where Pam graduated from Gaylord St. Mary's High School.
In 1980, Pam and David Yarrington were married at St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord, where they settled and started a family, eventually having three daughters.
Pam received her nursing education at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey and later received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix.
She was proud of her work as a Registered Nurse. For several years she was director of nursing at Larson Hall long term care in Cheboygan, where she also worked for a time at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. Pam worked last as a nurse with Munson Home Health.
In her spare time, she was an avid supporter of her three daughters as they grew up playing softball. Always a dog lover, she was also a breeder and trainer of Shih Tzu’s and Maltese dogs through her business, Pam’s Pups.
Pam is survived by her three daughters, Ashley (Andy) Groters of Gaylord, Amber Wright of Gaylord, and Tiffany Yarrington of Farmington Hills; grandchildren, Landon Groters, Ashtyn Groters, Bella Wright, and Olivia Wright. One of 11 children, Pam is also survived by sisters, Belinda (Daniel) Hoogerhyde, Rebecca (Jeffery) Sewell, and Regina (Darryl) Pollaski; brothers, Charles (Deborah) Johnson, Dennis (Linda) Johnson, Stephen Johnson, Samuel (Barbara) Johnson, Jonathan (Cindy) Johnson, Simon (Shawn) Johnson, and Matthew Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death her parents, and just one month ago by her former husband and life partner, David Yarrington.
A memorial gathering for Pamela and David will be held this summer. Final arrangements will be announced soon.
