Patricia Marie Smith

Patricia Marie Smith, 80 of Mio, passed away on September 19, 2026. She is now with her husband, Herbert Smith and her brother, Gerald Bodecker.

Patricia was born in Ohio and grew up with her brother Gerald. She eventually made her way to Michigan and found work as a line worker, packing parts for General Motors, in Belleville, MI. It was here that she made a living along with meeting the love of her life, Herbert Smith. They were married on October 23, 1981, and celebrated 40 years of marriage before Herbert passed in January 2022. Together they raised five children. For fun and time away, Patricia and Herbert rode in a motorcycle club. They enjoyed riding together and later in life wintering in Arizona.

Patricia loved her family, especially spending time with her grands and great grands. In her spare time she also enjoyed cross stitch and sewing.

She will be missed by her five children, Joy (Robert) Frederick. Ann, Fred (Tina) Westerh, James (Barbara) Smith, and Mary (Aaron) Ely; 11 grandkids, and 12 (with one on the way) great- grandkids.

Patricia will be interred with her husband at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
