Paul E. Ratliff

Paul Edward Ratliff, 64, of Gaylord, Michigan, passed away at home from complications due to ALS on June 15, 2025. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on November 14, 1960, Paul grew up in his hometown of Muncie, Indiana. He graduated from Delta High School in 1979. Later, he attended Ball State University and graduated in 1983. He went on to have a successful career with Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a Pharmaceutical Sales Manager before retiring in Northern Michigan.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Paul was known for his easygoing nature and the deep love he had for his family. He had a passion for golf, cheered on all Detroit and Michigan sports teams—especially the Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines—and found joy in coaching and volunteering for youth sports during his daughter Kaitlyn’s younger years in Hartland, Michigan. His granddaughters were the light of his life, and he shared a special bond with many of his beloved pets throughout his lifetime.

Paul will be fondly remembered for the countless memories made on family vacations, his bright smile, his wonderful sense of humor, and the unconditional love and compassion he gave so freely.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of over 43 years, Keely Ratliff; his daughter, Kaitlyn (Brandon) Chojnacki; and his cherished granddaughters, Elliana and Brynlee Chojnacki. He is also survived by his sisters, Cindy Rhum and Cathy (Jeff Boise) Baker; his aunt (by marriage), Lagretta King; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Ernest Ratliff and Patsy Sue Ratliff, his uncle (by marriage), James King, and his nephew, Ryan Rhum.

In respect to Paul’s wishes, no formal memorial services will be held. However, a celebration of life will take place in the fall of 2025.
