Ralph T. Godmar

Ralph Thomas Godmar, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 62 in his cherished home state of Michigan. Born on April 6, 1964, in Farmington Hills, Ralph lived a life rich in love, dedication, and unwavering strength.

A proud Navy veteran, Ralph served from September 17, 1984, to April 12, 1988, achieving the rank of AXAN. His military service shaped his character, instilling in him a deep sense of honor and commitment that he carried throughout his life. Following his service, Ralph pursued his passion for helping others, becoming a substance abuse counselor and later earning a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health at the age of 40. His dedication to education and self-improvement inspired all who knew him.

Ralph was not only a small business owner of RC Electronics but also a man of the people. He had an innate ability to connect with everyone he met, whether it was the wait staff at his favorite restaurant or a stranger at a lighthouse. His kindness and approachability made friends of anyone willing to engage in conversation.

In the glow of his family, Ralph found his greatest joy. He celebrated 40 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Carol Godmar, sharing a bond that inspired all around them. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Stephnie, Robert, and Cassandra. Ralph cherished his five grandchildren, Colton, Jack, Journee, Crosby, and Chase, taking pride in their growth and accomplishments. Family camping trips to Tahquamenon Falls and Pictured Rocks, as well as adventures to Mackinaw Island, created lasting memories that will be treasured for generations.

Ralph's faith in Jesus Christ was intricate to his life, bringing him peace and guiding his actions. He will be remembered for his love of the great outdoors, particularly during hunting in his younger years, and for enjoying moments of serenity on his porch with Carol, listening to the chirping birds that surrounded them.

His siblings, Paul, Catherine, Micheal, and Heather, as well as his many nieces, nephews, and cousins, will carry forward his legacy of compassion and resilience. Ralph was fiercely proud of his nephew who continues to succeed in the Navy, a testament to the values he embodied.

Ralph has made the choice not to have a service. He will be cremated and his remains will be lovingly held close to the heart of those who knew him best. Ralph Thomas Godmar leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering commitment to family and friends. He showed us the beauty in the simplest moments and the importance of never giving up, even when faced with life's challenges. As we remember him, let us honor his spirit by continuing to build connections, lend a helping hand, and cherish the bonds of family and friendship.

Ralph was preceded in death by: Ervin Godmar, Judith Godmar, Bobbi Mares, and Robert Lindbert.
