Rex Quin Recek

Rex Q. Recek, 72 of Boyne City, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Medilodge of Gaylord. Born February 20, 1952, in Salinas, California, he is the son of Arthur and Lavon (Fleahardy) Recek.

 Rex was a Vietnam Veteran as a fuel specialist. Rex also enjoyed gardening, watching football, racing, cooking, baking apple pies, poetry, playing with his grandkids and being outdoors. 

 He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; two sons, Chandler Recek and Hunter (Erin) Recek of Boyne City; his father, Art Recek of Long Beach, CA; step-children, Angela (Mike) Walters of Cheboygan, MI, Amanda McArthur of Columbus, OH, and Eric (Diane) Vaughn of Boyne City; special grandchildren, Kiara Walters of Cheboygan, Destini Speigal Cheboygan, Dameion McArthur of Columbus, Ohio, and Jacqueline Recek of Boyne City; siblings, Kit (Sandy) Recek of Colorado, Zan (Tesla) Recek of New Mexico, Teri Lara of California, and Kathy Maggini of California; close friends, Jimmy (Veronica) Pettit and Tammy (Chuck) Keldson all of California. cousins Dale (Joann) Recek of Florida and Marie (Jeff) Dobner of California.

Rex was proceeded in death by his mother, Lavon, and brother, Joe.

 A memorial gathering will take place from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Boyne City Memorial Park. Please share your memories and personal messages with the family on his guestbook below.
