Richard B. "Dick" Green

Richard B. "Dick" Green, 78, of Gaylord, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, April 27, 2026.

Dick was born on September 4, 1947, in Bay City, Michigan, to James and Elsie (Lohrke) Green. He graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1965.

On September 6, 1969, Dick married the love of his life, Debbie Shank, at Visitation Church in Bay City. Together, they built a life centered around family, raising their daughter, Carrie, and son, Deron.

Dick dedicated 50 years of his career to Standard Electric. His work brought his family to Gaylord more than 30 years ago. He retired in 2019 as the longtime manager of Standard Electric’s Gaylord location.

In his free time, Dick enjoyed bowling, fishing, casino trips, card games, and cheering on University of Michigan football. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends, as well as with his beloved dog, Daisy. He was a proud member of the Bay City and Gaylord Bowling Hall of Fame.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Debbie Green; his daughter, Carrie (John) Marsack of Gaylord; his son, Deron (Sheryl) Green of Gaylord; and his beloved granddaughters, Alyssa (Jacob) Vallance, Madison Marsack (Travis), Kennedy Green, and Zoey Green. He is also survived by his sister, Carol White of Port Huron; his brothers-in-law, Mike Sharp of Bay City and Randy (Nancy) Shank of Bay City; his sister-in-law, Becky (Mark) Larive of Bay City; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his recently discovered half-sister, Linda Runyon of Burton, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elsie Green; his father and mother-in-law, Jack and Dodie Shank; his sisters-in-law, Marlette Sharp and Mary Shank; and his brothers-in-law, Roger White and Dennis Shank.
