Robert George “Bobby” Bailey

April 1, 1944 – July 29, 2025

Robert George Bailey, affectionately known as Bobby—and to some, “Willy Nelson”—passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the age of 81. He left this world the way he lived in it: listening to his favorite tunes, holding someone’s hand, and with love all around him.

Born on April 1, 1944, to Bertha Bailey, Bobby was a true original. He had a laugh you couldn’t forget—even if you only met him once—and a stress-free, laid-back way of life that inspired everyone lucky enough to know him. Whether he was walking hand in hand with a great-great grandchild or spending time with his beloved dog Harley, Bobby brought warmth and humor wherever he went.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army and later worked as a skilled mechanic, but his true passion was building motorcycles and riding through life—especially during Bike Week in Laconia, a tradition he treasured.

Bobby is survived by his children Lori Bailey, John Bailey, and Eric Bailey; his grandchildren Trina Rojas, Jill Bailey, Chris Smith, Ashley Tansino, Michelle Smith, Kristen Bailey, and Justin Bailey; and a legacy of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will carry his stories and spirit forward.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his family, who were the heart of his world.

From one of the last songs listened to in his final hour: “Tuesday’s Gone with the Wind.”
