Robert Ray Olund, 75 of Gaylord, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, in Lewiston at his hunting cabin.

Born on November 25, 1948, in Bellaire, Bob was the son of Pardie and Elizabeth (Hale) Olund. Bob graduated from Gaylord High School in 1966, where he ran track and played coronet in the band.

Bob served honorably in the United States Navy for three years, serving 26 months in Vietnam as a riverboat gunner.

On July 15, 1972, Bob married the love of his life, Darlene Berlinski. She preceded him in death after 51 years of marriage on April 6, 2024.

Bob retired from Gaylord Community Schools where he worked for 36 years as a custodian. 

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, camping, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed the good times at his cabin in Lewiston and fishing trips to Canada with his dad. Throughout his life he loved animals and was never without a dog. Bob was a member of the American Legion in Lewiston and enjoyed their Fish Frys. 

Bob is survived by his sons, Pardie Olund of Wolverine and Tyrel Olund and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Gapinski of Gaylord; grandsons, Zackary Olund, and Joshua Olund; and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Fairview Cemetery in Gaylord. A luncheon will follow at the Livingston Township Hall at 1:00 P.M.
